Unbeknownst to most casual users, Fujifilm’s FP-100c instant peel-apart film hid a full medium format negative behind an opaque layer of black gunk. To “reclaim” the negative, one had to carefully bleach away the black layer and then wash and dry the negative. When printed or scanned, they reveal rich detail and intriguing “chemical borders” created by the caustic bleaching process .
