“Odysseus Has A New Home!”

“Odysseus Has A New Home!”, these 5 words confirmed that Intuitive Machine’s lunar lander Odysseus had safely made it to the moon’s surface last night. Onboard, among many other payloads, was The Lunar Codex, Samual Peralta’s extensive archive of human creativity. It goes without saying that it’s an honour to have so much of my work represented in the Lunar Codex now permanently archived on the moon. This morning I learned that one of the tenets of the Artemis Accords, Nasa’s blueprint for the future of safe, peaceful international space travel, is the preservation of space heritage sites, of which Odysseus’ new home is one. Peralta said it best:

“The Odysseus - including all payloads - is now a de facto Artemis Accords Heritage Site - and all our artworks, writings, music, and film on Codex Nova are now part of the designated heritage of humanity, to be preserved for posterity."
